The Eastside Slow-Poke Hikers Meetup organizer Christine has invited us to their picnic on Saturday. I'll be working, but I'll try to show up later in the day. The details are as follows...

Carkeek is a lovely park, and offers a great view of the water, beachfront access, several miles of trails, geocaches, picnic areas, and more! So - bring some grub for yourself, and hopefully some grub to share, and we'll have a grand time. If the wind is up, bring your kite. If not, bring your camera to take some great shots of the beach. Or, we can hike some of the trails that overlook the water, or into the woods. It'll be up to you what you'd like to do after we eat.

I am muddling my way through the insane picnic reservation process for the Seattle Parks Department (or attempting to), but we might end up just putting blankets down on the ground, so please be prepared for that as well - ie, we might not actually score any tables. If you have something that you want to cook or heat up, I recommend a camp stove. Also - if the upper part of the park is too crowded, we can assemble at the lower part of the park and spread our blankets out there. Justin and I will get there about 15 or so minutes early to figure out where we can set up, so look for an ESSPH Meetup Sign pointing you on where to go to congregate and chow down. If you don't see us at the upper part of the park, continue around the loop to the lower part, and we should be down there. If in doubt, call Christine's cell: [masked]

If you know what you'll be bringing to share, please feel free to post it in your RSVP, or in the comments below. I will try to bring some Wheat & Dairy Free Brownies, as well as some Dairy Free Onion Dip and other allergy friendly foods.

Please remember that the parks do not allow any alcoholic beverages - so keep the drinks innocent!

Hope to see you there!

I have an extra ticket for The Sasquatch Festival for Monday, May 26th. It's worth $75 but I'm willing to trade the ticket in exchange for a ride to & from the festival. We would need to leave by 8:00 a.m. and must return Monday nite. Respond by BY PHONE ONLY @ [masked]. Thanks

Hey all! I managed to get reservations for 3 tables for the picnic. They are $10 each, so if you wouldn't mind chipping in $.50 or $1 to the cause, it would be great :-) We have Tables 8, 9, and 10 - which I am told are located by the grassy area next to the playground. We'll still put up a Meetup Sign, so we should be easy to find. Thanks all, this should be a great time!
