This is a two part event, please read through all the details. I have 2 city permits for us!

GROUP PICNIC & SOFTBALL GAME-2 EVENTS IN 1: (Pls DONT RSVP if you havent paid. Lets be fair to the ones that paid and the limited spots for this event.)

EVENT 1: PICNIC: Start time at Noon!
The Ross Pinetum on the west side near 86th St. (SEE MAP BELOW) (City permit is from 12-5:30PM

Rather than attempting to do a barbecue for a group this large I am having this picnic catered for us.
I first called Brother Jimmys, love that place, but they wanted $37. per person to do an all out catering; rental of 2 staff members, clean up, delivery, etc.. I then called another place and got what I was looking for, 10.00 per person, no staff, we clean up ourselves, and they deliver! Bingo, thats us!

This includes food trays filled with pasta, chicken, meat, fish, rice, salad and fruit. Plates, napkins, utensils, too. As a gift to the group I will provide all the soda/water for the group.

Once the majority of the group is with us I will make one phone call and have the food delivered to us nice and warm. The picnic will be in Central park's picnic area.

If folks want to bring deserts to share with the group that would be great. Also if we have any guitar players, or Violin, flute, etc,, come on down. Bring your pet as long as the pet can get along with others.

PICNIC WILL BEGIN AT NOON TIME, PLEASE DONT BE LATE!

EVENT:2 SOFTBALL Start time approx 2:00PM

The Great Lawn Softball Field #6 (SEE MAP BELOW) (City permit is from 2-5:30pm)
Approx start time for softball is 2pm (ish)
I will post the exact locations with diagrams along with my cell number so that everyone can find us very soon.

The event will begin with a group social picnic beginning at noon, those that want to stay in the Picnic area can stay till 5:30pm. Those that want to play softball once we finish eating can join us at The great Lawn (field #6)

I picked this specific picnic area and softball field because they are within walking distance from each other. I have a few bats, ball, gloves, please bring a glove, a bat if you have some. Or just come to cheer and watch!

The weather was great, the company was superband the food was excellent. If you never picked up a bat or glove before it didn't matter, everyone pitched in and helped. It was so great that even when I hit a pop up and accidently stepped on the bat as I began running and did one of the funniest falls ever, I wasn't embarassed and everyone gave me a score like I was on the Olympic team ranging from 4.0 to a 5.8 on the dismount. The main goal was to have fun and that was definitely accomplished

Who attended?

    •  The group picnic followed by Team Eric Vs Team Taimak in softball was lots of fun!! I'm glad everyone enjoyed the dual event. Special thanks to those of who helped me make this day enjoyable for everyone. To Beth for helping out with all the food, THANK YOU! To Jinny for making sure everyone was enjoying themselves, THANK YOU! To Taimak for the coaching & leadership he provided for his team, THANK YOU! To Tom, when the parks department wanted my dog out of the softball field you pulled through and kept him around. THANK YOU! To Karen, also helping out, THANK YOU! To Mitch and Eddie who brought in extra laughs, THANK YOU! To our first baseman, Laura, who played a kick a$$ first base THANK YOU! Last but certainly not least, HUGE thanks to all 22 of you who joined us on this beautiful day AND made this event such a big hit. It was like family out there and I felt inviting everyone home afterwards. See you guys at the next event!! Eric
    •  fun as well as a great workout(softball)
    •  The weather was perfect and the people were really nice and fun. Once the organizer showed up, we were able to eat lunch, socialize, and play softball. The softball event was by far the most fun part of the event. Everyone was light-hearted, outgoing, and supportive of each other, no matter what the skill level. I was so happy to have had such a perfect day enjoying food, sports, and meeting new people.
    •  I had a great time, thanks Eric.
    •  Once we were actually able to find ourselves, it was the most wonderful time. I haven't played softball since grade school, practically, but our team captain (Taimak) was able to get us all, no matter our skill level, to put in our best -- and everyone on both teams was so supportive and encouraging, that it really didn't matter how good or how bad we were. The objective was to have fun, and fun was had by all. Can't wait to see how all the pictures turned out! To tell you how much fun we had, nobody seemed to remember what the final score was -- although of course I tell everyone that we creamed the opposition :) Thanks, Eric, and thanks to everyone else for helping to make my Memorial Day, memorable :)
